Great day today serving our vets and sharing time with my NCKA brothers!  The weather was ideal!  Not even enough breeze in the kitchen to cause napkins to blow around. A light breeze on the water that was near perfect for a drift.

Fish were CAUGHT!!

The park rangers where cooperative.

I got a chance to talk with several park visitors and explain who we are and what we were doing there.  They all told me thanks for doing this for our vets and to pass along their gratitude to the vets for them.  Everybody hung around after to help with the clean up and we really didn't want to leave, not knowing exactly when we might see each other again.  That's family for you!!

Amazing once again….

Thanks to all the volunteers,  you guys just keep raising the bar and we are like a fine tuned running machine,  pretty much feel we can handle anything…  just so you know too, the VA ( who was not here this time, says we are the BEST…  :smt003)

Thanks to Carl  and Adventure Sports for sending John " Fishball" and " Gone Fishing…"  to help out… Carl really cleared the way for permits and after a few dealings with Natomas, Carl saved us (me) a lot of time and grief.  But I must apologize to Carl as we did create a little problem with Laura as she was not happy with us parking our vehicles down by the beach.  We should have unloaded and parked in the lot. I will be sending Laura a letter apologizing and that and in the future we will be better Stewart's.

Thanks to Mike Mowrey and Ocean kayak for showing up and making the the deployment of the troops much easier.  Sorry I did not get to speak to the guys helping ya out, but thanks again, it's a full day to bring out all that gear etc…

Very successful, I have not tallied the numbers but I'm pretty sure we got 14 vets out yesterday and some family had a nice time too…

a few capsizes but all handled in good fun.

Thanks again to Y'all and looking forward to the next one, I'm thinking Berryessa late April early May...

What an awesome day. Got to hang out with Derek a Navy Corpsman and we had some amazing nature encounters on the water.  We had some geese come flying right towards us about 3-4' above the water and turn up right at the kayak. I looked over and Derek was ear to ear smiles. You can't plan moments like that. I hook up what felt like a descent fish and handed the rod off to Derek to fight it and after a few minutes of fighting it came unbuttoned.

After lunch he was the first one back in the water. He couldn't get enough and I feel the madness is strong in Derek.

If I misspelled your name I'm sorry.

I wanted to give a big thanks to Don, Matt, and Rob and everyone else for putting on such an awesome event.  It was an  honor to be able to help out.  Great Job and looking forward to more HOW events in the future.

Don- I am sure Carl will be able to smooth it over with Laura on the parking situation, no harm no foul!

I think the biggest thanks goes out to Jack for manning the kitchen and prepping all of that great food. As usual the Taco Shack was a big hit. Also thanks to my friend Bob for helping Jack out all day long.
