To the Volunteers! You guys are the best. Although this was a smaller group of Vets and a short time frame to get this together, you guys came through once again with the N.C.K.A. fellowship. I am proud to be one of you. Don thanks for showing up this morning with the necessities you are the man.
The therapist were once again impressed by you guys and the vets were overwhelmed with your hospitality. For those of you who did not make this we had an absolute blast.
We put the Vets on the fish and then hung out after they left and just kicked ass with more camaraderie and I believe three limits. Fish for all..... I know someone will be posting pictures. Again guys thanks for all your giving ways. Frankfishing :smt004

Frank took the helm today and didn't miss a beat.  We missed Jack and his kitchen, but Bigfoot
came thru with the Starbucks and Frank brought some apple somethings.

Again EBMUD and Rocky Mountain Consessions contributed.  We used four or five of their kayaks
and that really helped.

One therapist  has been with us a couple of times, and he is looking forward to Kelsey Ranch in June.  Another therapist ,  first time kayaker, went with Barefoot, myself and a vet for a trip across the lake and back.

The vet I took, in James' virgin tandem, was a former surfer from SOCAL but had a lot of right side damage, compounded by a stroke.  Amazingly, he paddled most of the trip.  He was a stud and courageous.

In one of the pictures, you see a vet with a special adapter, who caught his first fish since his injury.  He was pumped.

It was a small HOW gathering, but potent.

Thanks to our NCKA brothers that came, and special thanks to Don for being able to delegate, and of course to Frank.

Splashdown, Ron,Rob, Barefoot, James, Mooch, Bill,    Thanks for giving of your time.
Forgive me if I left your name off.  Let me know and I will add it to this post.

Raydon was convinced that if he "camoed" his kayak, he'd get into some fish.....and it worked  :smt002 We awarded him the title "Lunker Plunker" of the day  :smt003

Since our official Cook - Mr. Kayak Jack, could not make it to this event, we only had enough food to feed the vets....so we sent Kayak James on a quick kayak hunt mission. He did not disappoint us. The volunteers ate well and this is what's left of it....

The Park staff was not happy about this.....So we just gave Don's phone number and we took off right away.  :smt003
