Ditto.  I still fish there, as like you, I live only 15 minutes away.  I'm too lazy to fish anywhere else for trout, except going to Quarry lake occasionally.  I would one day like to go somewhere scenic and try for browns or maks, just to check it off my species list, but I like the ocean too much and don't know jack when it comes to freshwater fishing
get in touch when you have a couple days off and we can run up to almanor - there's a cheap motel outside of chester for like $70/night that's a good place to chill during the winter.  I just gotta convince the wife, otherwise I'd be up in the hills almost every weekend.
