Man :smt011

Would this policy lower my call volume...............

When I worked in San Francisco we would say that " mother's day " came 2 days a month...

1st and the 15th.... " Mama done got her Check! "   The line would start around the 24hr Check Cashing

Before 12:00 the night before and after that " The Party was on!!!!

Pay off your drug dealer, get more drugs, get robed/beat up for drug money and/or eventually Overdose,

and get into some other trouble...

" Till the Kool Kool Kool of the Morning " as the Late Great 80's Band "Krokus" would say....

If your on the streets, love Drugs/Alcohol ( much of what got ya there in the first place )

What does $550.00 to $1000.00 dollars a month do for you?

Just enough to keep ya going on Drugs/Alcohol and Beg/Borrow/Steal till that stipend comes again...

  Hell of a program..........

Now before you slam me for " politically incorrectness " or Judge me some other way...

For the last 2 days I have been Knee deep in the Homeless rendering aid and packaging them up to go to

the hospital ( also on your tab )

   They are " My People " :tongue2:

Hell our Modo/Logo on our Station Shirt is famous....

It has a Burning Shopping Cart with the Saying

" We make House Call to The Homeless "

I wish this money could be directed into centers that helped with:

Shelter, p.o. box, phone, Shower, job placement help, drug/life rehab.....

I'm up to my neck with these Urban Campers/Rebels :rambo:

and it's really easy to shrug them off, But what just tears me up is watching more and more..

Women walking down to the Center by the Station with small children,

They do a pretty good job here in Sac with getting these people in Shelter but again...

There are more and more everyday...

Don:

As frustrating as it is to see these social ills, and to know we are contributing funds that only seem to perpetuate it, basic human kindness demands we treat the injured and sick, and feed the hungry.  Especially as you note, the innocent kids.

Thank you Don, and other 1st responders for being in the front lines.  It is frustrating and maddening for you I know, and I want to let you know that I and other like-minded people appreciate your efforts.

Remember, I live in Santa Cruz, a destination city for the homeless due to a paradigm of socialist politicos that have held sway here for over 20 years.  (Thank you UCSC).

My technique when asked if I have any spare change is to reply "Why yes I do!" and keep walking.

Having been there myself, I guess I believe in the bootstrap philosophy.

Parrellels my friend.
In our identifying similarities I progress, when I don't see me in you I digress and remain ill at heart. IMO

Humor for me is the key. If I can't laugh at myself I take me to a dark place so I found that happiness and being right are at opposites at times with one another other. I too have been on the roles of the needy however; change came to me with admittance not assistance to my whoas.
"Teach a man to fish........" Got to love this sport. Thanks Al.

 Thanks Scallen,

I as well as the other's who deal with this stuff " Close Up " appreciated it ....

I do try to show them respect and look them in the eye, Their so used to being

" Invisible ", and just a little recognition that they are a person can make their day, but...

I also agree with the " Boot Straps...

Mine is " Never Heard of Spare Money.... " or " Nope, just large Bills " or " Gave @ the Office "

I go Hot & Cold on this stuff...

It's a life time of getting to where they are,

I just feel a Center that gave resources and a Honest shot of Helping these people get off the streets

( if they really wanted to ) would be great,  Support with " Teach a man to Fish " ideology....

Then there is the Generational Welfare........ Man, no idea where to start there.....

To these people, it's an entitlement to do nothing and expect everything.....

No work ethic whats so ever :smt011....

Anyway, intersting idea " Drug Test ", hate the thought and use of them, but it would shake up things.

" NCKA solves Homeless problem "  ...... Not Likely, nor anybody else in our life time....

Guess society will just have to keep giving out Bandaids for now.................... Danglin

They should pass UA, as well as face a choice between depro provera or tubal ligation.

Some people just always spend 120% of what they bring in, those folks should not be given money and should be discouraged from having kids.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
