New Brighton State Beach / Sept 1-3

Sat morning: Took HWY 1 - South bound and stopped by the Hollow to say hello to Cafe Craig,Kayakito and Gordo. Wished 'em luck and was back on the road...just before Davenport, I saw this, this and this.......and then this 

Got to NB at 7:45AM and met Martin / Yakuza, Angel / Pacifico and Kevin. We waited for the gate to open (8AM) and launched into foggy conditions....we decided to wear our PFD's and sign waivers...just in case 

DAMMMMM!  I would have never went in the water in those conditions!  not even a lake!....o.k. maybe a lake

We made our way to Capitola to catch WSB.... and I did....well, sort off  

Yup....it was WFO on King Fish...for me .....as usual   Did I mention, I HATE fishing Capitola  

There was a lot of bait and pelicans getting their throats full. But we did see a lady on a kayak catch one Halibut....it was nice to verify that there was sign of life (big edible fish) in the area  

I'll let the others chime in with their own "FISHING" reports

Despite my inability to catch fish at what I now call my very own - personal - "Bermuda Triangle"   AKA: New Brighton, Capitola and Santa Cruz  ....I still had lot's of fun hanging witht he crew at the camp grounds....

Mooch, Most pinoys I know eat those things! But of course they are FOB. Nice conditions.

Despite the presence of danger all around us....Martin and Kevin decided to take the risk and bring their beloved doggies with 'em to camp

Just a fair warning to Ben (of Monterey) and Bob Neal.....I got the chance to try some chili over rice....made by Stephanie (Kevins wife) and it was the shnizzel 

You boyz might want to sharpen those chili cooking skillzzzz  coz you now got some serious competition 

Made friends with this little fella name Zack...who is now my karate sparring partner 

shame on you all for subjecting small children and animals to the dangers of cliffs, water, surf, sharks, traffic, chili, food posioning, sugar, diabetes, obesity, fire, lighter fluid, flammable tables, boats, clothes.  I bet if I looked closely I would find knives as well.

forget the PFD, we need kevlar coated asbestos body suits to be worn at all times!
