Popsicles=frozen bait. In case we don't get anything of decent size to use for bait

Tote, the boat will be plugged with live stuff - and I assure you it will catch fish. If it is smaller than you like, we can make mackerel.

A GPS is a nice safety backup but not mandatory. You'll just have to fish your new-found spots by memory.  :smt002

Man, I've been building and organizing stuff all week but I'm still not done with everything.  I think I'll be spooling line and tying rigs in the car on the way down tomorow...  Need the bait tubes done tonight though because that requires power tools.  ;)

Same at this end and I thought I was really ahead of the curve about a week ago!

Walker (the "wood lathe master") who turned our gaffs and billy "bops" on his lathe has now come up with another "fishing" use for it: he set up a spindle in his lathe, tied the end of the fishing line to it from a reel he wanted stripped, turned it on, and off came the  line in no time at all. Four reels, zip, zip, zip, zip, and done! He then set up a new spool of line in the lathe, threaded it thru the eyes of the pole to the reel, adjusted the gearing on the lathe for just the right amount of drag (the lathe is turned off and the drag is just the force needed to turn the machine bearings, belts, motor) for a really nice tight pack. Not as quick as a reel winder but the end result was great. Sure others have done this before, but it really helped last night when there was just too much to do.
