Is Ocean Kayak going to "step up" and give Bungle an new P13 or Trident?

They gave Dan one and he didn't even own one.

Chuck, feel free to ask Mike Mowrey....I'll PM you his number if you want.
Dude... don't you represent OK?

Yes I do....but I'm NOT the guy who makes the decision to "give away" kayaks. And if I did have the authority, I'd surely give him one   :smt045

Mooch I think you meant to write your "not" the guy who makes the decisions. It's a nice sentiment though and you do represent alot of Prowlers so they should heed your advice.

Thanks for the support everyone.  No new news from 5-0, not expecting any.  Figure if anything were to turn up it would be during the first day or so.

Any conserns on your Car!
Kinda, sorta, though definately more sore over the loss of the kayaks.  Although theres no need to look for a new kayak till I have a new vehicle.  I don't think thats gonna happen anytime soon.  Meh.

Good news!  Got a call tonight just before ten.  It was OPD, they found my car.  Four fricken blocks from my place.
A couple came home from a weekend trip to find my car in front of their house.  It must have been too ugly for their neighborhood, because they called to have it tagged/towed.  Police run the tags, comes up stolen, voila!  Car is found.
The creeps thrashed the contents of the car, they got the stereo...

They got my fishfinder too, but I think only because it was already in a duffel bag which was probably used to stash the stereo.  Other than that, it appears the rest of my fishing/paddling gear is still in the car.  The kayaks were still locked to the car...

The straps had all been cut, but the lock held true.  The Tarpon appeared untouched, but the P13 took some damage...

There wasn't enough play in the lock cable to allow the kayak to hit the ground, who knows how the hell they managed that?
I'm starting to wonder if the kayaks being locked down to the car convinced the thieves to ditch the car where they did?  If they had been able to dump them, who knows where my car would be right now?
Ok, its late and I need to try and get some sleep (I'm a little wound up right now).  Just wanted to let everyone know all is well.  Thanks again for all the support and offers of loaners.  You guys kick ass.

What?  4 blocks, we should have canvassed your immediate neighborhood better, crazy, driving around looking for your car and kayaks and I didn't even stop to ask that cute girl if she had seen them... :smt011 crazy shit Nate!!!!!!

What was that talk of karma?  Did it work, remember when I said that maybe I should be an asshole more often and then maybe good things would happen, the nice guys finish last theory, not so apparently, I'll just keep being nice.... haha.  As for the prowler, chucke can fix that with a torch and a big spoon.   :metal

Hey Bungle,

You should be a spokesperson for whatever company made the locks you used to keep your kayak attached to the top of your car.  :smt002

This is such good news for me to read first thing this morning. I was just admiring Nate's nice tarpon at Bean a couple weeks ago, and to read this thread I was just so bummed. I'm so glad that you got most everything back Nate, even if the punks did try to ruin it all.
So yeah, what are the specs on that cable system? :smt003

Sweet man! Glad you got your stuff back, sorry it was so trashed.

I think you have to put some kind of bling cap on the bow of your boat now. Like a big gold cap to cover the scrap!  :smt044
