Actually, my wife has been very understanding about my kayak fishing in the ocean ever since I signed up for some decent life insurance a few years ago.

Now that you mention it, mine has too.  As long as she isn't waxing my kayak with anchovy oil...  ;)

I did not want to tell her, it was a bad weekend already with the 2 Firefighters getting killed,

But, she gets even more upset if I don't fess up, and she finds out about stuff...

She was good about it, but I could tell,

" Great, another thing ", I feel/hope she has developed a defensive mechanism to

" What will be will Be ",

We all know that we have a better chance getting killed on the way to the Landlords Home......

But, on the other hand.....  My Mom is going to Kick my Ass!!! :spank  .......Danglin

I told right away but I do not think she gets it.  I told her I do not fish around there anyway.  She knows the ocean is big and the landlord definitely has property near Monterey too.  Either I have the best wife in the world or she has an ulterior motive letting me fish every weekend.  :smt044

I sent out a mass email to all my friends and family telling them of the attack, and I told them that I almost went out to BH that very day.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

A few days after BH we were passing our neighbors' house on our after dinner walk and the guy came out and asked me if I'd heard about it Apparently he talked to one of you guys who fished there Sunday

so that's how my wife found out Not that I'm keeping anything from her it just didn't occur to me to tell her

I didn't tell her about a drive-under off of stinson about a month before that either She has the attitude if it happens it happens

Actually, my wife has been very understanding about my kayak fishing in the ocean ever since I signed up for some decent life insurance a few years ago.

A few years back I had a close one(no sharks involved) on the marin coast that left marks on the bod  My wife laughed her ass off then gave me sh*t for not getting life insurance before I became uninsurable

She's the best, a total straight-shooter :cowboy_smoke:

as soon as ChuckE called me and told me, including the comment "its gonna be in the paper" - I told her the story chuck relayed to me.

Pre-emptive strike

Now she's adamant about her rule, "don't go alone, tell me where you're going"

I read the article on the site Monday morning.  I managed to keep my wife away from the TV news for a few days.  Then just when I thought I was safe my Dad called in the evening to ask "Have you seen the news lately".  By the time I hung up I had to tell her all I had read about it.

Fortunately she took it better than I expected.  She knows I will still out anyway.

I guess the landloard was watchin shark week as well and wanted to be counted.
