Hi Yakers:

Min. scoop BBoy will sell and, what time he's at the Dock?

Hey Ernie!

I give him $10, and he gives me as much as I want.  Like 40 pieces of bait or maybe 50 squigglers.

Usaul there by 6:30am, but much earlier this week due to albacore anglers.

Hey Allen,

I think you said it's a boat right? What dock?  Do you just pull up on the kayak and honk the horn?...kind of drive thru-ish?

Hi Yaker:

 I think it's  "S" dock. Across from  O'Neils' Cat.

Look for Monterey clipper fishing boats

I gave the guy at S dock 5 bucks and he fills my floating bait bucket with a ton of chovies.  Last time I picked some up it was enough for three people to fish for the day!

Now i'm just wondering how I can keep more of them alive longer.  I had a whole bucket die on me in just the time it took to drive to the other side of the marina!

Gotta get them in the water QUICK!

There is no guarantee you'll make your own bait, but for the last couple of months this end of the bay has been full of bait fish - macs, chovies, queenfish, jacksmelt. Yesterday morning I saw a huge number of birds diving just outside the harbor.

LOL, boy did we feel dumb on Sunday, buying anchovie popsicles for 6 bucks a tray from the marina shop.  Guy at S dock wasn't around, so we felt we had no choice since we were all setup to bait fish for the SC tourney.  Soon as we exited the harbor, there was tons of bait.  Just everywhere!  In the later afternoon we passed over the largest bait ball I have ever seen, and pulled in enough to fill my new bait tube over and over again.  Though as much bait as I now had, still the fishing wasn't that great...  Oh well, had fun anyhow! :smt003

I think there's so much bait there because they know there isn't much around to eat them.   :smt003

Or, maybe there is so much bait, that the fish are all full and not biting....?

That's my thought. The RF we got up at Bean last week were stuffed with anchovies.
