I got back from a particularly uneventful fishing outing recently and noticed the almanac said I was out there or two of the worst days of the month. I've never looked at it much, because a day of fishing is a good day any way you cut it. That said, I am interested in upping the odds of success because I don't have much excess time anymore. I have had lots of experience with fish 'turning off' for mysterious reasons. Back in the day when I could take vacation and fish every day, there were days when nothing could be made to bite no matter what I tried. Sometimes these days would be bracketed by hot action immediately before and after. Frequently there would be no clear reason; no change in weather, barometer etc. Now, I can't get out so much anymore and am interested in trying to make the most of my opportunities. Should I be paying more attention to this tool, maybe even to the point of sheduling accordingly?

Good question.  If you get an answer let the rest of us know.  I usually just chalk it up to the luck of the day good or bad.  A day of fishing is always better than work.
