Whats up all.  I have been lurking for a while and just wanted to jump into the fray.  I live in Aptos (Santa Cruz basically) and have been fishing and diving off the kayak specifically for 2 seasons, this being the third.  My favorite spot is that hard to get to spot anywhere between Big Sur and Fort Bragg.  This is a great site, Thanks. :smt001

Hey Amadeo, good to see you signed up here!  ;)

Since he's new to the site and too polite to outright say it, I'll be the one to embarass him... :smt003

Besides being the consummate waterman(fishing, diving, crabbing, etc.), Amadeo is also a great artist, whose work I have the utmost respect for.  His personal site is listed in his profile & if you look through it, the ocean's influence is very apparent:

Among his recent work, he has been one of the driving contributors to the new DFG fish ID book:

So, with a popular Mooch-ist greeting, "Welcome to the madness!"   :smt001

Welcome, ab10! Yes, this site is great. Everyday I learn something new about kayak rigging and fishing techniques from this group of really nice people. BTW, I'm glad your friend "blew your cover" because your website is AWESOME--what talent!

ab10,

I've seen your work before and I'm a big admirer.  Glad to see someone doing well as a scientific illustrator.  I seriously thought about doing that (or medical illustration) as a profession but ended up a marine biologist instead.   Looking forward to meeting you some day.
