Hit Chabot to hunt down some bedding biatches last sat. with rain in the a.m. forcasted, they hit the nail on the head wit dat one....
IT DUMPED HARD and WOULD NOT STOP! I was already prepard to get wet , but not like that!

I put in over 5mi. of paddlin, which put me at the 103mi. mark for 07"
I also thought I was gonna see lots of posted-up males and Fems lookin for them....NOT!
i was able to get three of those boys(no girls) and I did see ONE group of 3-BIG FEMALES in the back of a cove, which I tossed a swimbait around, for practice.

Pic#1,2~ can you see the 3 cute-baby-geese in the first pic?  if not see the second pic....

Pic#3   ~ ya think one could catch a fish from here.......NOT ME!

pic#4,5  ~  2 of the 3 fish I did set the hook into ,17" was the biggest.......and missed another three.

No fish wanted the 7" senko or the Jig&tail, so I threw em' a 5" and they accepted.

Note: when you got your waterproof jacket on and its tucked into your waders and it starts to rain hard....untuck them(out of the waders) before your pants/underwear/sweatshirt obsorbs it all.(dooh) and you start to wonder....why do i feel so wet and cold?

Nice fish, looks like a good bass habitat.  Looks like you're throwing either a watermelon or rootbeer senko there.  Those are my go to colors.  Been getting alot of love off the smoke w/ black in the stained water lately.

Nice Bass. They should be moving into the shallows at Lexington, Stevens Creek, and Loch Lomond to spawn soon eh? Should be fun though I personally feel one should C&R spawning bass for certain--we want lot's a little ones growing up out there. And I don't think we want to fish after they are defending their nest--if you pull a bass off their nest that is more than enough time for another Bass or Sunfish to move in an eat the eggs. Or so I am told.

SM ~ i've never been successful at getting them off their beds until doing it at Clearlake a few week ago.they were in pre-spawn and still bitting somewhat. The big females were lookin around to get HOOK'd-up with the boys.

Adam,

I'm assuming you got the 103 miles from your GPS.  Any chance you can export your track data to the computer? Might be fun to figure out a way to add the data to Google Earth so you can see all the paddling you've done all year.

Yo now ya talkin' dawg. Yo. Word up. Kayak fishin' is da bomb. Straight.

I plan on quite a few local tourney events this year (don't have a lot of time for driving with family obligations) though I don't expect to place at all. No matter. Just doing it is fun. It will be great experience and maybe I'll learn from the bass masters like Gordon, Adam, and others who seem to be able to hunt Bass in their sleep.

Besides, I can always give a quick pop with the CO2  and stuff them with sand (thanks Mooch and Brian  :smt002)

Adam

WTG and looking good for AOTY. Nice fish. I hope those new moms weren't too upset and can get back to their eggs. Check out the lip-stick wacky worm hooks on northlandtackle.com. The weedless weighted hooks look really cool, not that you need any help. If you want to hook up this weekend let me know. Maiden voyage of my new yak (P15) and will be breaking a beer bottle on the bow to celebrate the occaision.
