After yesterday's rain I was pleasantly surprised that the morning was only partly cloudy with some sun.Alien and I started the day with three nice perch a piece in the 11-12" range, released some dinks and got some solid bites while the tide was still high from 7:30-8:00.

The action turned off as the tide fell and a veracious group of harbor seals chased the perch from some prime holes. We decided to head to Phil's for some seafood and chowder...delicious as usual. As the tide fell we hit the rocky tidal zones for a bit of improvised pokepole action. As you can see, the monkeyface eels were on the bite...

Another day in paradise...with some tasty morsels to show for it  :smt002

great report and photos, love the monkey-face eel pics...a face only a mother could love. and the eels
aren't so pretty either,  :smt002.

On saturday I waded in and chased those seals out of there...  :smt005.

I had the full wetsuit on and was ninja-perchin'. scram seals!

A couple years back I was waist deep and a seal collided with me. scared the poop out of both of us.  :smt010
I was smacking the water with my rod, screaming like, well, screaming like mooch,   :smt003.
poor seal freaked just as bad and gave me one of those hurt looks as he swam away...

At one point on saturday I was casting back at the beach over a super deep hole. only got seaweed...

those perch are never exactly where I'm sure they are going to be.

there is a ton of structure there. but at low tide the fish are pretty spread out I think.

the good fish came in medium sized holes near the beach for me. The clear water let me see my
fish swimming back and forth in front of me, I could see the head shakes, it was great!

man times change!

I remember the old Filipino guys with 12 foot broomstick poles, 30 pound test and 6 oz pyramid sinkers.

Got to admit that the ultra light gear is awesome

Alien, We're going to BBQ the eel tonight with unagi sauce.Man those slimy suckers are kinda hard to clean.

It's funny, I was talking to a guy bankfishing for shark who said the eels were great for male potency. He said I better sleep on my back or I'll put a hole in my mattress. :laughing7:
