Well it's that time again :smt002 Now that number of our members have grown, I'm simply curious to see what everyone's paddling these days....I know some of you own more than one fishing kayak (Tote and BrianG come into mind  :smt003) - just choose one that you'd use on any given weekend.

Thanks!

IMO: pimpin is da best part  :smt002 just make sure you do it right the first time - so do your research before you make the first "hole"  :smt003 Good luck and have fun  :smt003

I have a Prowler 15 and a Marauder and like and hate them both  :smt005 :smt013 :smt005 :smt013 :smt005. Depends on the conditions.

But Mooch is right, da pimpin is da bomb. It's really cool to get out an fish a kayak you outfitted yourself and also to see how creative our members are which, of course, gives you more ideas.

That's exactly why my marauder is still un-pimped...I haven't had the opportunity to meet anyone on the board yet so I'm waiting until I see a few pimped out yaks before I do anything to mine.

I also have an "un-pimped" Marauder. I have been checking out all the pics and am excited to start, but my gf says I have to wait until after Christmas to start buying stuff.  :smt012 I hope this means I will be getting yaking stuff this year!! :smt003

Pimp, unpimp, then repimp is always fun. I am on my 3rd quick release anchor system. This one is the bomb and I am sticking with it.
definitely do your research on this board to see what works best for most people.
I mostly drive a Prowler 15 but i think my old school Tarpon 160 will see a lot more action next year.

I've got a drifter too, craig.
Will be installing the motor mount this January (for FW trolling). The tricky part is fitting the foot-control module in the footwells. Wonder if 46lbs thrust is enough? Find out on the next episode of "Pimp My Yak" !!!

Currently only own a Cobra Tourer. I absolutely love this kayak, however I wouldn't recommend it if you fish alone. Loaded with seat, paddles, thigh straps, pfd and a couple of spare straps oh and finally a spare set of paddles just in case; it is too hard for one person to deal with. It isn't that it is too heavy but at 15' it is difficult to handle by yourself. Fortunately I have a lady that loves fishing and her Cobra Tourer as much as I do so we are and work as a team. Unfortunately she doesn't like getting up in the AM so sometimes I am stuck fishing at times that wouldn't be my first choice, which has made me have to be a better fisherman in order to keep us on the fish but..... I keep threatening to get a second yak that I can handle by myself so I can get out and hookup with you guys but she gets real mad  :smt013 :smt013 when I mention fishing without her.

Jeff
Originally I got into fishing to fish.

Hey Jeff,

I used to paddle the Tourer way back when and I liked this yak a lot cause it was the lightest one on the 15 ft. class. I also liked the fact that it had the strorage hatch on both ends of the yak (great for camping). The only reason why I sold it was because the hatches were not installed properly (I bought it second hand)- thus leaking problems. If I had to get a second kayak, I'd get the Tourer or the Tarpon 160 (with the 2 hatches).

Hi all  :smt006-

Mooch we are up to 38 votes. Looks like prowler 15 is pretty popular with the crew. I just got a new Prowler 15 and I love it. I need to pimp it out but I'm working slowly and doing my research.

Tarpon 13T I've only installed two flushmounts behind and a Scotty side/top mount between my feet so far. the anchor system and Two hatches are next. The seat I won at Bam II works great in the middle position in this two and a half seat Yak. Tote lets see pics of the final version(anchor)!! The hatches I need are special size's, If  I could find a small A-hatch for the front that would be great. Anbody have links for weird sized hatches???? I think my size and reach is the only reason I choose this Yak. I think if I got a bigger paddle I would be happier with the manuverability of this 34" wide barge. Randall
