Mooch,not sure when?but rainey times at Samuel P.Taylor State Park / off Sir Francis Drake Blvd. way North you can walk along the creek and see them.They have tours and self-tours.

I went mt.biking/camping there a few years aog and saw a BIG-Red Humped-back one swimming alone in a deeper section and thought to self "bring pole next time"
Next time I went,there were signs and arrows and..... The cat/salmon was out of the bag!
