Basic Kayak Navigation & Trip Planning
11/8/2006 7:00 PM

REI Outdoor School guide and kayaker Brad Bostrom will teach you the basics of kayak navigation, so that you can paddle safely in marine environments. You’ll learn how to use tides to your advantage, plot courses across shipping lanes and handle the hazards of fog, wind, waves and boat traffic. Come practice navigation techniques, using local nautical charts, compasses, and tide and current logs we’ll provide for class use. To pay in advance for the class, call or visit any Bay Area REI Customer Service Department. If space permits, you may also register the night of the class. For more information, check out www.rei.com/outdoorschool or pick up a copy of the REI Outdoor School 2006/2007 Fall & Winter Schedule at any Bay Area REI store.
