Hey look at this Sponsored Link that come up on the NCKA Fishing Reports section called "Fishing Hurts":
http://www.fishinghurts.com/feat-dogfish.asp?c=1509

It says something like, " if you wouldn't stick a hook in your dog's mouth, why would you do it to a fish?"

That's it, no more fishing for me.........although my dog might put up a pretty good fight...hmmm.

Ah man, I wish I saw that PETA link. I could have have done some serious click-fraud with it.   Bill would get some well earned revenue to keep this site running and  PETA would have had to pay for it.

I found the ad and started clicking from as many ip addressess as I can muster around the lab.
I also wonder if PETA didn't pay for that ad to have it posted specifically on this site.  I'm sure their propoganda works well on hardened kayak fishers.

That crap has been around for a while.

Every fisher I know just laughs at it.

Given that plants have sensory systems to adjust to their enviornment and communicate between each other, I wonder where the line is drawn?

Would PETA have us eat soylent green?

i would never do that to a dog, they don't bite sharp objects! they are not that dumb usually. i would just tie a cat rubbed with gravy to a piece of rope and slowly reel in.

:cowboy_cool:     Nothing like a crocodile for bait. Haven't tried glow in the dark yet. I didn't get to make a big sur trip this year. Maybe next.

I remember reading something in the paper about fish and hooks and pain. The article had some PETA idiots giving quotes. Later I read another article that said that fish don't have nervous systems like dogs and such and actually can't feel a thing.

Think about it how many times would a dog eat a treat with a hook in it and fishing line coming out of it. Bass will grab it all the time. Even birds, camp robbers (jays) will not grab food with a fishing line on it, at least not more than once.

I remember when I was 7 my mom would drop off me and my dog at the creek near Gibson Ranch in North Highlands to fish, leave us there for about 6 hours then come pick us up. My dog got into my tackle box one time and did get hooked right under the jaw. Technically I did hook my dog so I have NO problems hooking a fish. Put THAT through your lip and reel in PETA!!!
