I've had to spend the last couple of weeks in Hawaii working  with only a couple of sundays off. I rented a tarpon 160 and did a little self guided tour out to a couple of small bird sactuary's roughly 6 mile paddle, with snorkeling. Saw about 8 turtles but could only get 1 pic, all my snorkling pics are too fuzzy to post. But it was a great paddle and I'd highly recomend it to any body. The cost for the yak was $45 for the whole day.  I was on the windward side of the Island just of the Pali hwy.

Now back to work here for two straight weeks, befor I can go fishing....

There were a ton of bikini's I walked Waikiki every evening. I didn't feel right taking pics of bodies I didn't know. (plus I have a new girlfriend)  Didn't mind looking though.   :smt118  One night a squad of cheer leaders were out, and I left the camera in the room.   :smt010

Unfortunately, most of my days looked like this.

Spent most of the time inside a boiler :blob8:

hey craigh, month of sept,in the islands, papio and omilo are best.the are active in the shallows now as they hunt for oama.[baby goatfish].usually you see bunch of people gather around each other when the school comes in. they use bamboo pole with size 15 hooks.oama is such a prized bait. papio are young ulua[jack trevally]. if you can catch some oama you will catch papio, and let the fun begin.
seeing your pic of windward side brings back wonderful memories of the islands.aloha and good fishing.

Hey Kimo,  The guys at work were talking about that run. It sounds lik it would be a blast, I can't wait to go back next year and do it again. I'll definatly be spending more time on the wind-ward side of the Island. It is really a wonderfull place.

Craigh,  Sorry to hear I missed you.  I just moved to Kailua.  I have been out fishing twice, not much love.  I am going to go towards more fresh and live bait.  I just have not had much luck with lures.  Even without the catching the paddling is great.  Make sure you contact me next year, if you want I have a tandem you can use with a fish finder if I am around.  You might be able to talk me into going out.  I knew owning two yaks made sense.

Thanks Ed,   I'll definitely be looking you up. :smt023

I'm thinking about a time share there.

 That place is addicting.

aloha ed,just read your reply to craigh. not much luck yet? dont worry, before you know it you'll catch a gaint ulua and it will be a fight of a life time. on a quick note, I used to use yo-zuri lure. there fast, bright, and well balanced. from main line tie a barrel swivel to the leader. light as possible for greater action.i dont use snap swivels.if theres anything else let me know.ps there a reason why they call kailua de the windward side, so be aware.aloha kimo
