Meet Jake.  He's a 9 week old German Shepherd pup that my veterinarian cousin gave to my dad for his birthday.  I volunteered to housebreak, socialize, and put Jake through obedience training.  It's gonna be so hard to give him up.

I'm trying to convince my sister (it's really her dog) to re-name him "Agro" instead of Kylo

poor lil'guy just wants outside!!!!  he got a taste of the outdoors a few times, forced to swim in cold Mendo waters, eat Gorilla BBQ and do general man stuff..... now he wants OUT.     i don't blame him, i blame the SYSTEM!

Some of you might remember the accident my little dog Buzz had back in '08.
He pulled through and recovered just fine. Always walked a little strange after that.

Sadly though, at two months shy of 14...old age caught up to him.
The wife and I decided it was time. He was put to sleep last Sunday.
It's the hardest decision a pet owner ever makes. We both cried all day.

Everyday for almost 14 years he would greet me at the door when I came home, always happy to see me. Now it seems strange to walk in and not see him there.

I know many of you can relate to my story.

Buzz will be missed...time will heal.

I'm feeling your pain, Al.


My Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Cheyenne, passed on Monday, March 1, 2010. 2 more months and 3 days, she would have been 16 years old. A stinkin' tumor took her away. That dog would do anything for me. Dive off rocks into raging rivers, sit in the back of a truck for hours just so she could go for a ride, or wait patiently in the house for hours for me to get home. Luckily, I was able to take her with me almost everywhere I went. We were only separated a few hundred hours of her entire life (it's great to have a job where you can bring your dog to work). Of all the dogs I've had, she was the best. Lots of shedding fur to deal with, but that dog could flat out fetch ducks, geese, tennis balls, tree limbs, rocks off the bottom of the river, you name it, she would bring it back.

Rest in peace, Big Red.

She left me with these two goofballs, Sonic and Dakota. Cheyenne used to keep them inline. They mourn her too. Dakota whines all the time now in the living room, and has taken over Cheyenne's dog bed.

Meet Jake.  He's a 9 week old German Shepard pup.  Jake is from a Shutzhund trained line of police, search, rescue dogs.  I'm training him to be a lovable family dog and a good guard dog for my parents.  It's gonna be so hard to give him up.

that is the dog that I want!!  I love shutzhunds.  I used to help my sister raise them for SJPD..Got some good dog stories from SF for you, Chuck!
