I want to go clamming.  Searching here and elsewhere on the net, it seems that Dillon Beach is THE place to go.  I don't see any weekend daylight hour minus tides til March, tho...  Is a negative tide really necessary, or can it be done on smaller tides?  Anyone try HMB?

Who wants to show me the ropes?  Let's get a hookup started.

Thanks in advance.
Eric

It's doable at .5 but you have to be quick.  With a -tide you get to take your time and enjoy it more and if Sonny  is around you also get fresh clam sashimi after the dig :smt003

Thanks.  That'll give me something to work with when planning, at least.  A quick trip might be great to sorta scout things out.

There were a bunch of clams sticking out of the sand at night over at Doran.  Was hanging out with Dustin while he shark fished on the harbor side of Doran.  I tried to grab them with my fingers, but damn, they are quick and stronger than I thought  :smt044

Did Dustin catch any sharks in the inside bay . I caught them off the ocean side but in a few tries inside - nothing !  Just curious as I stay at Doran a few times a year .

He said he has caught them there, but it was obvious the crabs were just stealing his bait.  He knows a lot about shorefishing there, so send him a pm ;)

The entire week following Easter has great minus tides in the mornings.  Some of the Loose Screws are tentatively planning a trip to Lawson's that week.  There are no definite plans in place yet but I will post a hookup as soon as plans are a little firmer.  As always, the Loose Screws welcome all NCKA company and friends.  Playing in the mud and eating fresh Horseneck Clam Sashimi at Lawson's is always a great time.

I was thinking about a Clam n' Chill too!
Everyone just needs to be prepared to get sand in their ears. :smt003  It's messy work, but worth it for the sweetest clam sashimi ever!

Hightide took SuperD and me clamming at Lawson's and we had a blast. I'd definitely be down for a CnC! Next time I go clamming, I'll wear latex gloves under mechanics gloves or something like that. My fingers were stained black for days after! I'm down for a clamming session. Holla!

A couple things you will need are sand pumps, 5 gal bucket  to carry stuff and import water into the hole, flags for marking the clams, a round pt shovel, an isolation tube is handy, thin gloves so you can dig or you will teat up your fingers in the clam shells under ground, lots of determination to get down into the mud/sand,you almost have to dive to real successful, I have done this for many years and do real well, and yes a good minus tide be out before and get ready start in the eel grass in the water.Spotting them is a little tricky sometimes.Heres some shots for you at lawsons
