Thinking about getting out and soaking some bait for sturgeon and stripers. Anyone game? Could launch to Macvoys Baypoint or Montezuma or Sherman Island are the spots I am considering.
Later
Jimbo

Ok will try this again without all the derby drunks out there.  :smt005 Looking at the same plan . Could launch to Macvoys Baypoint or Montezuma or Sherman Island are the spots I am considering.

Let me know if any interest , if none I will probably be on the Montezuma on Channel 69

FYI, there will be a super bowl sturgeon derby on Feb 4th and 5th. Weight station is at McAvoy so it will be crowded. I will be there for the derby but with the boat not kayak.

I'm working Sat. but just as a side note:  2 days ago I needed a break so I grabbed a light rig, (8# spinning) and ran up to fish off the bank. I was about half way between the Sherman Is launch and the set of power lines that are the farthest west.  As I'm sitting there staring out at the end of my pole, about 20 yds offshore a 6 footer launches itself outta the water, it was a fatty too.  Pretty cool and it may have been the first time I hoped that I didn't get "the bite".  Ended up with a starry for dinner and that "other fish burned into my memory.

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Hey fellas... I went to Benicia B and T and the lady recommended I stay far away from the waterfront from san pablo to sherman I.   She claims the boat traffic this weekend is the worst of the winter.. I am considering doing an airport run as most of these derby folks wont go that far.... the weigh in is in pittsburg...  Anyway.. I got to go somewhere so if anyone has bay or ocean ideas let me know.

I am on the fence if I launch from Sherman Island or not in the morning. Sounds like it will be a zoo out there with the derby going. At least if I go I will probably just fish till early afternoon and hopefully the derby fishermen won't be too drunk by then :smt044  or I might hit some lake maybe Amador?

High tide at Sherman is at noon might be able to fight some flying sturgeon out in the flats or at least catch some stripers if you want to hit Sherman I would say launch around 930 10

Yup it was crazy down here. Any luck? I got 54" sturgeon yesterday morning after only 30 mins of fishing. :-D. I wish I caught off from my kayak but it was the boat.

Yea the thought of all those crazy boaters made me decide to postpone this for a week. I ended up golfing instead and had a great time.
