Except for when it snaps back and nails you in the eye .........

Or lower.
No emergency room, but will still ruin your morning!

Actually, I used to do the bungie cords. They worked, but I guess I was just traversing gnarlier trails because I finally went the sewn strap route. I try not to hurry as a rule, and the longer setup time forces me to slow down and figure out what piece of equipment I forgot that morning. :smt044

Randomness rules the universe. Perseverance is the only path to success..but luck sometimes works too.

I cut my strap in half and bolted each side to my Wheeleze. Can do it with one hand and it's always there. Just not that fast.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

On easy trails, pavement, etc... I've gone to just using a tight bungee strap.  Less than 10 seconds...  ;)
two tight bungee straps that is  :smt002 = 20seconds

Except for when it snaps back and nails you in the eye ruining your whole day fishing plus the possible visit to the emergency room.

I agree with Mike - stay away from bungee cords.

I have a technique using one long wheeleze strap only.No modifications necessary. It goes through the handles and across the boat twice. It does require one to bend over but is super bomb proof for getting sideways on trails with a yak loaded to the gills with gear.
