Anybody interested in a Fish N Chill at Lake San Antonio on Feb 17-20?
The A-HULLS have been considering an event at San Antonio for a while, and it seem like a worthy destination for a Fish N Chill.
It's located in south Monterey Co and contains LMB, SMB, spots, stripers, catfish, bluegill & crappie, and huge carp. There are 2 campgrounds: North shore and South shore, and they're both right on the water. We still need to decide which campground we'll occupy...
Late Feb/early March can offer good bass fishing with prespawn-like conditions because it's usually warmer down there. Plus, it's Presidents Day wknd so we gotta celebrate!   :beer2

Let me know what I can do to help out.  You will be chillin on my backyard.

On another note, if you decide to fish n chill n hunt, one should know they don't allow guns in the park.

Probably about 2hrs from Watsonville, Ricci.

Good hunting and 4WD @ Ft Hunter-Liggett about 15min away: http://www.liggett.army.mil/sites/fishhunt/hunting.asp

But I'm going to be focusing on fish at the lake. (-:

Ya Jim, same here. If it's not raining, my wife & kids w/b there too! The spot I normally camp @ south shore has a new playground that makes it easy to corral the kids.

That would be a trek similar to you guys coming up to Shelter Cove, right? Thats a ways for me to go but Ill see if mama wants to go. If not well............................................... civil disobedience might work. You guys found some nice water down there this year and you are real chaps for giving it up so easy. Theres probably a 20 inch smallie in there somewhere I bet.
