Jim (Salty) gave me some scopace and that worked really well.

The medicinal product that Mendocino County is so well known for works great for nausea......that's what cancer patients use it for.  Unfortunately for me, I don't like being stoned--especially when yak-fishing when you need to have your wits about about you.

A guess my hippie membership card will certainly be revoked after that confession. :smoke

just a follow up for others, used the Bonine and have not had any motion sickness on several dives.  Makes you a little drowsy but nothing like the dramamine effect.

Thanks for the feedback Eugene!  I'll pick some up some of that and the generic stuff recommended as well.  Sucks to be sick OTW. :smt009

The patches didn't help me. Meclazine pills work better for me but they make me very tired and lethargic all day afterwards. Coffee before a dive is a guarantee of sickness for me.

Bonine is the best in my opinion.  My wife and a friend get seasick staring at the water in the bathtub.  Nothing has worked for them until we used Bonine.  No drowsy effects.  It just works.

Drem failed me miserably, ginger didn't work either.  Started using the Motion Eze aromatic drops and this actually works, but found that Scopace pills is by far the best for me.

On the flip side, I also found that a fully loaded Subway Cold Cut Combo with pickles, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, banana peppers, mayo, mustard, vinegar/oil, and all the flavor sprinkles tastes pretty damn good coming back up.  So now, this is my go to ocean food, half a sammich for breakfast, and the other half for an on the water snack.

If you're gunna hurl, you may as well enjoy it.  :smt044

I don't get seasick on boats but I've felt queasy while diving and even puked once last year. I think my old wetsuit was making me sick because it was too tight around the neck. Sitting on the kayak and pulling my hood down seemed to help. Too much breakfast and swallowing saltwater might also have contributed. Turns out that oatmeal is a very effective chum.
