This is the set up I use most frequently.
Of course I strap it down. Takes less than a minute.

Thanks to my big ugly lumber rack loading and unloading is fairly worry free. I also like to run a cable through the scuppers and lock 'um down.

Not necessarily. If you keep it 64 and under in normal conditions you will most often be fine. I tow many thousands of miles with trailers weighing from a few hundred pounds 10k lbs. Been passed by CHP when I'm doing 60+ all the time. Toe rigs ranging from my Toy 4x4 to my motorhome.
