Good News! :smt004

To legally use the Alabama Rig in California inland waters, the rig must be attached to one rod with one line and no more than three of the attached lures containing hooks. Those lures containing hooks may have no more than three hooks attached to each lure. The other two could have hookless teasers. Some people locally have even developed a modified three wire rig (now called a Cali-rig), which is legal.

I've use similiar umbrella rig; but only use hooks on three lures. I usually put spinner blades, or just don't use jig heads with hooks, on the top 2 arms.

I want to try them but honestly am a little skeptical. And a little embarrassed to be trolling an umbrella rig.

I bought a few on line, they are the cheaper priced type ,and I'm sure they will hold a striper if hooked,do any of you  use a brand that you are happy with

These are homemade 5-arm umbrella rigs which collapse down to store in your tackle box; I am having my friend make ke 20 of them and I will bring them to BSS2... which will be available after the tourney :smt044 :smt044

Glen, do you Cast and retrieve with Alabama rig? Or do you troll it? I'm thinking for Stripers it would be a pretty cool trolling set up...especially if you have a second rod stamp. The train of thought with the Alabama rig is that more is better right? Get a second rod stamp and troll two of those bad boys! Six swim baits behind the yak! Stripers watch out!

They are going to be epic for the shad run in the American river.  3 darts. 3 4 pound shad with a ton of followers if one is a female!

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
