how long do these tracking devices stay on a GWS?  It would be cool to have for a kayaker fishing certain areas.

Man that would be scary.  Your phone starts pinging away that a GWS is right under you moving at a high velocity then it comes with "Warning GWS Breeching imminent"  lol

It's about time and as far as I am concerned one can attach an transponder every one of them 220 GWS. But I want real accurate time!! To do so any you find money from perhaps not expected support.

Out of curiosity I got the app. Save your money. There are only a handful of tagged sharks which are all currently down off the Baja coast and the locations of all the documented shark attacks off our coast. Some nice pictures and videos though.

A co-worker of mine has it. Looks pretty cool. I think it shows Adam's attack at Bean, but not Dan's. It does show the P.P. attack from November.

The transponders only work when the shark's fin breaks the surface. If you read the article it says some sharks ping every week or so and some are only heard from a few times a year.

With more and more people getting out in the ocean, I'm all for it. I like the idea of lo-jacking child molesters and 2-strike repeat offenders as well  :smt045

If you knew where they're hanging out at you'd never go in the water.

I'd buy one if it told me where the po-po were migrating.

FYI I think you can get the same data on the GWS and other tagged animals via Google Earth.

Here is the link for the app: http://www.expeditionwhiteshark.com/index.html

So now when people ask you if you are afraid of kayaking in the ocean you can tell them there's an app for that.
