That explains a little test I did  on the Islander....

had  3 or 4 Makos, small ones, about 5'... buzzing me on the yak taking my  Bonitas...

it was kool, but then I thought, wonder if this shark shield works... hooked up another bonita, drawled them in and switched it on!!!

On ya!! 3 of those suckers jumped out of the water like it was on fire...

  Pretty Awesome....

  Thanks Craig....
Don, why dont you keep it on all the time?
I've often wondered if they have tried using a SS at the Guadalupe when they are getting heavily taxed.

Good question and threatens a threadjack...  :smt003

The " Rumor... " that it might attract a GWS, ( Which is understandable as GWS do go off of electrical distress signals from distress fish ) is more than I can handle if one of my Bros got eaten while my shield was pulsing... So, I go with the Tax Man getting first strike, and at least I have it if I get the chance to see him or someone else spots one. This is of course a very flawed strategy as all 3 hits so far, have been pretty powerful and no way I would have been able to turn on the shield as it is not easy to turn on anyway. But, I feel it's better than nothing and do have something if the Tax Man does a drive by first...

Watching those Makos jump out of the water when I turned it on was pretty impressive, I guess it's just in their Nature to get ariel...  They are also pretty knarly to look at even at only 5' long.... :smt106  and incredibly fast....

Nothing short of amazing. I've never seen footage of a mako jumping quite like that. Looked like it was at least 15ft straight out of the water on the highest jumps. Thanks for sharing.
