Official Berryessa Fish N Chill..This weekend.fri., sat. & Sun...Lupine Shores.

Unless this week goes all to hell, I will be there "camping" in the pop-up Fri-Sun. 

Lupine shores was a good spot to camp and a big plus was there wasn't anyone there at all the first night we camped.    It's an alright camp spot with port-o-poties and close to the launch.  You can tent camp in the first 7 spots (1-7) for like 22$ a night, or choose a spot closer to the water for like 32$ a night.  Not much difference in the spots except where they are located to the water.  With wheeles you can just pull your yak over to the launch pretty easy, or just drive over.   Also, no Potable water, so bring all the water you need.  Launching there your very close to Capella Cove (?) which is where most of the hot action was reported to be about 6 weeks ago.

 We really liked the camp spot there!  If you take a small hike around the camp you will find downed wood you can gather.  The ranger/night guy there was very kind and brought us more firewood because he wanted to be sure we would be warm.  Also, when we left, the ranger came out to meet us, because she wanted to know who was crazy enough to tent camp in the middle of winter there 

Was going to plan on heading up Friday night, but also wanted to see Rich's show in San Mateo on Friday.  So we may just skip friday and head up saturday.

Ok well it looks like we a have set place for the Fish n Chill, Lupine Shores it is! Sat. is niners game, ufc fights, and my buddys bday, so I'm leaning more on Sunday as for now. But all that stuff is not way later in night anywayz tho. It seems like a lot of you guys will be already there come friday and sat. Im stoked and now gonna go play with my fishing tackle for shits and giggles..hehe

Is anyone heading up Saturday? Was planning on camping Saturday night and possibly fishing Sat afternoon and all day Sunday. let me know if you are oterhwise I will proably just fish Sunday.

Shouldn't need a reservation, the place should be empty.  But if you plan on camping Saturday, pay for the camp spot instead of the parking fee, so you dont have to pay for both.  There are only 7 tent sites open, the rest are RV.  Sara and I will likely be there Saturday AM, stay the night, fish both days.

Thanks for the info Al, Figured it would be empty this time of year but I've actually never been to berry before so wanted to make sure.

If anybody gets a campsite friday, or sat. let the rest of know so where we kno where to go. Im sure it wont be hard to see or find. As for sunday's chill, I dunno how does 1:30 back at the camp sound? Ill bring burgers and buns and an extra bbq just in case

After paying your fee, and getting through the gate, you will pass by a long stretch of parking lot on your left, which is the campsite.  If you get to the launch ramp, you went too far and you are blind Cant miss it.  Best spots by the water are ~10$ more per night, but offer no more amenities than the tent sites.  Remember to bring all your own water, no potable water onsite (didn't even see a faucet, but might be one somewhere).  Gonna be cold, real cold at night.    Will need wood for sure!
