....not trying to be a smartass but how about putting in some more time? Any Harbor you fish will most likely be over fished because of it's easy access to many other fishermen. The fish are out there, just gotta work a little harder to find 'em.

Good luck!

thank you for replying,
I am  reading a lot of fish on the finder, but no bites?
I also have gone out to pigeon point a few times last week, same thing a lot of fish but no bites.  is the water temperature a factor?

Set up a little tripod on your yak, snap some photos of your trip - the water, your bro's, the sky, launching/landing...etc., focus hard on what you are hoping to take home other than fish, and I predict you will get bit really hard.  Best of luck to you, and welcome to the Madness.   :smt001
Chasing salmon for the summer, and maybe a halibut too.

Like Mooch said, put in more time and you will get some nice fish. A good place to start is the reef that extends from just west of the harbor entrance to the green number 3 buoy. Good luck!

Best bet sometimes is to join a hookup with an All Star crew like the Loose Screws or other guys on the forum that will put you on top of the fish.  Hang in there and you'll be taking home limits. :smt003

I fished HMB on Friday and did very good.  You just have to find spots and keep on drifting and present to them a good presentation.  I dont go for small rockfish, I like to target the bigger quality fish.

awesome guys,
thanks for the encouragement!!!! I just started kayak fishing this summer.  I did well in the fall but now???  I go out very often, unfortunately the season is ending soon, but if anyone is out in San Mateo county when ever, let me know.
Thanks

ken jan do you have a fishfinder? i always catch rf / lings around rocky bottom in 35-60 feet. the magic number is about 40 - 45 feet around reef. drop down to the rocks and crank up a few feet and drift. this is why a fishifinder is so important here..

Thanks Moodymike,
I do have a hummingbird paranah portable.  not sure if it's a good one?  I'll definitely try your suggestion this morning at HMB.
Thanks

Cool ken jan . Let us know how u do . Most people will disagree but I've had best luck without squid using red/ yellow shrimp flys . As well as green or red swimbaits with the shrimp fly rig ( cutting off bottom fly of course ) . 3 or 4 oz lead heads bounced off the rocks or above them. GO get em!! They are there..

Try again in the AM if the seas calm down.
