Oops, I did it again. :smt005  Cabrillo's so close!  I'm goofin' off so I sllept late, got OTW at 2:00 and fished until dark.  Today was very different from yesterday -- lots more action.  I caught four short halibut and one lizard fish - all released, of course. The first of the four halibut was probably worth measuring but I didn't.

I shot pictures but tried not to lift them out of the water (except the lizard).   There was immediate action at the boat ramp, where I caught two of the four little halibuts.  All were on the white scampi, two were on the scampi alone, two were on the scampi with squid strips.  I went pretty far afield but two of the fish came right at the ramp, one as I started and one as I finished.  I probably should have stayed near the ramp all day.

The breeze was blowing by 2:00 and never abated.  It was a windy slog back in but that's when I'm glad I have the pedals.  There was a small pod of dolphin on the inside working bait.  (I think three animals.)  I tried to get pix but they did not turn out.

You know what short fish look like -- but here's the slide show anyway   :santa:.

Right on Dave!! I'm stoked that you finally got some water time after being stuck on land for 2 months, wow!!  :smt003 Glad to read that you also got some action on the rod, must have felt right. Anyways, happy holidays to you brother and thanks for the reports. Hope to hit the water with ya again :)
