The most remarkable thing about this fishing report is that I finally got back OTW after about 2 months of distraction at work (understatement).   :smt013   I have missed fishing.

It was a beautiful day, the water was very cold.  I got OTW at 1:30 and fished until just past dark.  There was a light wind that died down to nothing as the afternoon progressed. The tide was out -- very low when I started.   I didn't catch anything remarkable, three jacksmelt and two tom cod.   I threw plastic for a while, then put some dead squid on the end of the lure to get what little I did catch.   I ventured a little further around the harbor than usual.  .. It's urban fishing for sure, but damn, it felt good.

The sunset was stunning.  I took pix but rather than bore anyone with em, they're up as a slide show.

Back OTW .. feels so good.  Gonna do it again tomorrow.  Might try live bait and that groovy bait tube dpshim gave me.   :smt006

Nice pictures!  Love the little sport, that would be a great little kayak.

Good luck tomorrow and thanks for the report!

Beautiful photos! I miss Cabrillo and fishing on the Breakwater. The next time I'm in San Pedro (my uncle and aunt live there) I'm going to fish the harbor or do something crazy like peddle my Revo 13 to Catalina trailing a hoochie rig.

Yeah, Dave - way to get back on the water, and thanks for sharing that sunset.  Keep honing the skills so we can hammer the salmon and monster rockfish at Trinidad next year.  We've gotta get you to the Cove - I predict a major sleigh-ride on your 'Sport.   :smt001

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.
