Wife and I were in So.Cal. for the holidays to visit my Father in Oceanside. (no yak/gear)
Decided to make the short drive down to La Jolla Fri. to check out the launch and try to gather fishing area intell.
Also I knew MontanaN8tive, Iroelikethat and Auburntroutdude were going to be in the area.
Never did run into the NCKA crew, I think they went out Sat/Sun.
But I did locate the launch and talked with a kayak tour guide. He told me he didn't fish but told me of a kelp forest out past the yellow buoys and a deep water canyon about a mile off shore where the yellow tail and WSB are being caught.
The weather down there is sweet and the area beautiful. :smt004
I wouldn't mind living there if I was wealthy, walked past a real estate office and in the window they advertised  1 bed 1 bath condo with ocean view (not oceanfront) for 1.5 million, a little out of my league :smt005
Anyway here are some pics of the launch/cove area,
Hope the NCKA crew GOT SOME down there :smt003

Very cool Tad.  We were in Laguna the weekend before.  My wife shopped and I just wanted to head out for some fish and lobster!  It would be fun to take a trip for yellow tail and sea bass.  Maybe one of the mother ship trips to Catalina!  I used to party boat it when I lived there, it would be a lot of fun from the kayak!  If you buy that place I will be sure to visit  :smt003

Glad to see you're enjoying you're mini vacation. A very pretty place indeed.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.
