Hello all,

I want to install flush mounts in the locations below in my OK T13.  My question, the rudder cable passes through both these areas (as far as I know).  Concerned that I may damage the cable or if the cable is rubbing against the flush mount tube that it will eventually wear a hole into the plastic.  Has anyone done this?  Any problems?

Thanks-

Kenny

The  Scotty flush mount should not interfer with the rudder cables if you install them there; I installed a pair in them same spot and had a rudder also.... however, really did not use them much because they were difficult to reach.

I actually installed a couple Scotty round flush mounts next to the stock rod holders; work better for me...

I think there are some pictures of them in my build post...

G-Whiz; thanks-

I just looked at your build thread.  My thought for the flush mounts toward the rear was to serve as an anchor point for a PVC rack I want to build for the crab traps.  As far as the forward location (next to the seat), I would think the cable runs right through that area and it would interfere with the flush mount.  What you think?

Cables don't interfer at all with the flush mount; there is enough play in the line to move it slightly to the side of the flushmount.

Most people use the scupper holes as a place to put the PVC for crab trap mount; but that should work.

Good luck and see you on the water....

G-Whiz is correct.  There is enough play in the cable and you just need to push it off to the side and continue the install as normal.  Just be a little careful while drilling the holes so that you don't nick the cable housing and cable.  Since there is a cable housing, there won't be rubbing issues against the rod holder.  If you are not putting the flush mount in the typical recessed area behind the seat, be sure you have enough depth to accept the flush mount.

Thanks guys.  Mounted them today; I held the cables back while a buddy did the drilling.  I didn't know, but found out, that there was a cable housing.
