Awesome job on hooking up with some home-grown browns, pretty cool to read how aggressive they get when feeding. Thanks always Chris for your local reports!

Smoking report and pics! That fish had some serious shoulders on it. Do you do any duck/goose hunting on/around the lake??

Thanks everyone!  I'll probably head back to the same area tomorrow morning, hopefully the baitballs are still around.

Snapperhead - I don't hunt myself, never really got into it.  But I have friends up here that've been doing very well on ducks on the lake this year.  I've been hearing shotguns most weekend mornings.  We have a good system going: I trade them fish for game  :smt003.

If only you were a couple of hours away I'd join you fishing. :smt003 Is there any good camping around the lake for fish and chill?

There's a bunch of USFS and PG&E campgrounds along the west shore, along with private campgrounds along the east and north shores.  We're about to get into our 'winter weather' mode here real soon though.  Snow predicted for this Thursday  :smt012.  But usually, June through October sees mostly great weather for camping and kayaking.  June and July are mostly a smallmouth bass show, August sees the rainbow trout perking up, and October...well, you already know what October brings  :smt003.

Bahaha, and I just noticed my typo on the title of the post.  It's supposed to say 10/23/11.

Anywho, I went out to the exact same area last Saturday (10/29).  Pretty much the same deal as last week.  Find the bait and you find the fish.  Brought 5 browns to the boat, all on jigs near the A-Frame.

Hate ya dude :smt002 I already forgot how bad your winter was last year, too many crazy good days for ya. Another year goes by and I didn't make it up there. And I call myself a fisherman?
