Nucanoe???

I just found this kayak/canoe hybrid online and I love the looks of it!    It's called the Nucanoe.    Very wide and stable, great for the big man that likes to fish.

Funny I saw one in shasta for sale today it was used and was at Shasta Base Camp store. They look wide, I don't know how they handle.

While I don't have the nucanoe-i do paddle a native watercraft ultimate 14.5. For river, and lakes it is awesome, standing to fly cast and sight fish is really nice.
For saltwater, I found that rigging with floatation bags give great peace of mind there is a lot of open boat to fill up and swamp...
So far I have used this boat coast to coast as well as other lake and river with out issue.
And weight with both seats is about 75#.

How the heck are you suppose to punch through the waves in that bathtub? It would be a nightmare having a wave break over it and getting swamped.

Dude it's sealed and can't sink... but I will agree that no self bailing holes in the only con for me.   Luckily I just found the new "Frontier" model that comes out in January, and it has self bailing holes.  I'm pretty much sold at this point, I just need to demo one before I pull the trigger.

The Frontier definately takes the NuCanoe to the next level.  Impressive - 41" wide; the videos do a good job at promoting the stability.

In 16 years I've recommended thousands of kayaks to as many anglers and learned that love at first sight means a lot.  With a quality manufacturing process, NuCanoe is a quality product with excellent customer service.  In addition, NuCanoe utilized Tim Niemier (Ocean Kayak founder and legendary watercraft designer) and that lends a big dose of credibility.  After extensively testing the NuCanoe, it fits into the realm of specialty kayaks for specialty anglers. Surf zone launches only impact a fraction of kayak anglers so that quality isn't #1 on the design list for most manufacturers.  Many surf launches are possible with a NuCanoe though. The Native Ultimate series are skinny water boats mostly R&D'd in those SE waters.  NuCanoe gets a lot of use on the Pacific coastal waters. Based on feedback from anglers I've recommended NuCanoe to, I keep recommending it.  Given the opportunity with any new kayak purchase, "Try Before You Buy".
