I am just starting to use more and more swimbaits, and saw a lot of guys using Big Hammer baits. My question is what color and size are most guys using?
Thanks,
Jeff

My two favorites are a 6 inch holographic or silver bottom with a baby blue top.  A nine inch dorado which is chartreuse green and blue.

Pick colors you like, have a light color and dark color ready to go.

Before swimbaits were around I used Scampi's in limited colors and worked just as good.
Just more more choices these days.  I think action and presentation have more to do with success.

They all work its just a matter of confidence we all have our go to baits technically speaking!!

Big Hammers swimbaits have the squared tail for great swimming action. Plus the fact they are soft and supple. Giving the bait a lifelike action. The greatest drift speed I have found is about say 1-2 knots . The tail really swims good side to side. These baits get trashed easier than some but thats what makes them work so good. I like all the 6.5 inch sizes in Halloween, Hot Karl, Senorita, Bleeding Herring , Bleeding Mackerel, Pearl, Atomic Punk, Sardine, Pacific Chovy to name a few. Go get em then catch fish and post them on Big Hammers FB page. They have monthly picture contests for prizes. If you are coming to RBC look for me or David/ Tigerfish. We might just have some freebies! :smt006

The swimbait mender they sell in the stores works pretty well and can save a few. Get the one with the brush, it works the best.

You can fix your torn baits with a  cigarette lighter OTW. Im talking thrashed baits that are pulverized from hits by the toothy fish like big lings.
