About 10:00 last night I hear a noise outside, the dogs bark and I peek out of the kitchen window. Two shady dudes messing with their car, definately shady, but a regular occurance here in East Oakland, and nothing to get worried about.  I watch them for a few minutes and cant figure out what they're up to. The hoods up and the ignition is switching on and off, there playin with the center console and I remember saying to myself, "That car is gonna blow up!" 

Fast forward to 2 am, I hear my dogs bark and I wake up, they stop and I dont think much of it, as its a regular occurance and if I jumped up with my 40 cal at every little noise I hear I would never get any sleep Then A looooonnnnnngggggg car horn and I jump up to yell at the punks, and notice an orange light coming through my kitchen window, then realizing it feels kind of warm i look out, and the F$*#*NG car is on fire, BIG FIRE   This is the third time its happened at that same spot, I just watched it for a minute but it started getting BIG FAST, and windows were popping all over the place. Then the trees and bushes started to catch and I grabbed the hose and called 911!!!!

Im very happy with OPD, they were there in 5 min, and did a great job. It was a big fire and it took them 20 minutes to get the car fire out.  THE COPS NEVER CAME!!! I dont know why they blew that car up, but im sure they did something shady in it and had to burn the evidence.
Sorry for the long post, It's been a long day and got to get it off my chest....

Right on u are.  Happy with ofd, opd I've never been too excited about. Although they do have a TOUGH job, and its easy to armchair quarterback

pretty exciting.  Most action on my street was a pre-school mom pulling around the corner kinda fast....that's all.  Bugged me at the time but considering the alternatives.........

Geez, thats just nuts. They set the car on fire after doing what I wonder?

Last time i saw anything like that was a motorhome jacknifed across our mountain road, I think the propane tank exploded or something 'cause it was totally engulfed. the road is still charred at the spot, and that was about 4 years ago. When i notice it all I can think is "portable meth lab?"

Stolen car? Low jack system seen and not found... Instant burn victim... I used to Repo cars in Oakland, Burnt cars = insurance$$$$. Or they steal them and try and find the drugs the other guy stashed in it, then burn to hide finger prints and DNA. Hope you can some day get out of there. My Bears, mountain lions, deer, and turkeys look pretty good now. and I can eat those if forced to shoot them
