Removing Goop around transducer

I've got a brand new OK Trident 13 coming any day from an approved defective warranty claim.  I'd need to get my transducer out that's Marine Gooped inside the hull around pool noodle type foam so I can re-use it.

What's the best way to get goop off inside your yak?

Acetone...(Nail Polish Remover). It should loosen it up enough to pop it off.  Use a sharp knife to get in between the hull and transducer. Hope that helps.

 

  Try a little heat applied to the goop as well.  You might find that the transducer may just pull off with a steady and firm pull.

 

I pop 'em like an abalone.  Use a big wide screwdriver.

I just took it out.  Got a bottle of Acetone at Wallmart and poured it around.  Then used a small pry bar to pop it off the hull.  I cleaned off the excess goop around the transducer with damp cloth soaked with acetone.

I used a little bit of the advice mentioned above.  Thanks guys!
