« on: March 17, 2006, 01:49:23 am »
My new fishndive kayak was stolen last night off the back of my pickup the people that did this im sure stole it to either sell or fish out of it so im hoping we can band together to find it its gray 12.5 feet long and had bungie cords ties to the front in a (X) and one in the rear in a square shape please if anyone finds it please call me 707 548 5244 it also has 5 star decals on the bow on both sides as well as paddle clips on the right side. the paddle was also stolen.
This was not cheap to me and I can not afford to buy a new one so any info would be awsome it was stole in the east side of livermore near vasco rd.

James extremely sorry to hear this news, I know too well how it fills. I had a ws pongo along with my crate  with boga grip ,etc ,taken last year. best of luck getting it back.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

James-dude...that is heartbreaking  :smt009  I got your Pm and I will get your SS numbers ASAP.  God damnit I hate theives!

To further describe James boat it is light grey, with four flushmounts, two up front, two behind, folding COD paddle clips, a big rect. hatch like a Marauder, and a 10 inch round.  The cobra logo on the back was and unusual color combo..looks really nice...blue and orange, kind of a Denver Bronco combo.

James if you need assistance with the PD identifying it when its recovered don't hesitate to call.

The eyes of FedEx is an excellent idea.  With the FND being uncommon up here, your custom boat it will stick out like a sore thumb if one of us sees it.  Obviously watch every on-line classified you can think of.

James, Sorry to hear this tragic news!

For now at least, if I fish Del Valle anytime soon, you are more than welcome to join me - I have no problems bringing an extra kayak for you to use.

Hope this crook gets caught! I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open.

I hate theives almost as much as poachers.  Sorry to hear about  your woes.

Did  you talk to your neighbors and see if anyone saw anything?  I'm guessing you probably did but didn't see that on your list of things you've done.

A lot of times these same thieves cruise the same neighborhoods looking for similar targets.  Perhaps we need to set up a sting.

hey man that is bad. thieves are lower on the totem pole that dog crap. what you might want to do is fish for a FND kayak on Craigslist and scan their kayak ads to see if someone is selling. dont let the word get out too much its stolen or you just might scare them into a hole and make them hide out with it for a long time. scan craigslist ads and post an ad looking for a FND. i had a friend who found his car after looking on craigslist 4 years ago. you never know.

good luck and sorry about what happened. i hope you catch whoever did this. kayaks are not cheap but its the principle that people should not be putting their hands on other people's stuff. once i left my car parked in front of a friend's place for 5 minutes, came out and my stereo was gond and door lock was popped out. i was fuming. give people any opportunity to do something and they will.

i also believe that we as americans have the right to bear arms.

james,  my condolances,  :smt009.  Your stoke is infectious.  likewise your pain is shared.

Do check with homeowners or car insurance. you never know what is covered.

If the street is a quiet one, it's probably a neighbor, sad as that is.

If it's a busy one, that's tougher.

sometimes there will be a rash of thefts from a more professional group
that comes through a quiet neighborhood,
so it would be good to know if other stuff was stolen that day/night.

If not, then I hate to say it, but neighbors are the most likely.
