I need suggestions on a Scotty rod extender to go on top the new rod pod.  It is intended for non-trolling purposes.
I mainly do saltwater fishing and leaning towards Scotty 429 Gear Head Extender and the Scotty Powerlock Rod Holder 230.

Currently have a Ram 1.5 inch wedge mount and RAM Rod Revolution Tube Rodholder. No matter how much I tighten the Ram system it keeps slipping out of place every time I get a bite.  I've even roughened the surface inside the clamp area.

Thanks in advance..

FWIW,
The O.K. rod pod was designed to fit the CANNON rod holder.
