I just saw one of our "member's only" fishing reports reposted with a link on another fishing forum and NOT by the original poster. Shame on you. IMO you should be banned. It's called "member's only" for a reason. Moderator's please take action!  :smt011  :smt011  :smt011

NCKA has caught the attention of a spammer....I'm sure you noticed.  We're deleting the accounts and working on an IP Ban. Please Continue to report these lame ass posts.

Totally uncool but banning seems kind of harsh to me. Are we allowed to discuss members only fishing reports with our non-ncka friends ? Or does the regime consider that a punishable offense? I think public humiliation and a good long caneing would be more appropriate. I say post-up his name.

the link to the report that would not be able to be viewed by non-members...I think....right? If there were NCKA members on the other site, then they would be able to view the report...

True, but info could also be copy and pasted once people started complaining that they could not view the link. I'd hate for my reports to be publicly displayed.

No.....under the guise of homeland security we tapped all your cell phones and are now moderating your phone calls  :glasses7: :glasses6:

Of course your free to discuss whatever you want, copy and pasting someone else's report without their permission is pretty damn lame though.

I don't know the site or link in question.  I can't see the NCUH (by choice) so I can't comment.  My take on this is that as the OP of a thread or topic, I find it annoying to have what I wrote pasted or linked somewhere else.  I post on forums such as NCKA because these are the communities I want to be involved with, so there's a reason why I don't post on certain boards.  Though there's not a whole lot anyone can do about it if one of your threads has been "adopted".  A negative side effect is that members may be less likely to post reports.

Please refrain from any personal attacks in this thread. There is no official policy and we aren't going to ban anyone prior to an 'offical policy'.  I will post a sticky in the MO forums once the mods talk about this and set the rules. Please continue posting opinions in this thread so the mods can take your opinion in to consideration.

I'm pretty new to the forum and I've only made one post to the members report section, but this type of thing is enough to prevent me from making posts in the future. I'm generally pretty tight lipped with my info, but this group is so welcoming and generous with info that I feel obliged to share because I benefit from what others have shared. Because of the nature of the group on here this is the only place online I would CONSIDER posting detailed information. I think there should be some policy in place to preserve the integrity of the members report section, otherwise, for me, it's not worth the risk of seeing my post become public information. just my $.02

Did he at least give the original TS credit? Or did he try to claim the report as his own?

If he reposted AND tried to claim it as his own, then I say off with his head.

Either way, it's a pretty friggin' lame thing to do....whether stated in the guidelines or not.
