Pedal or peddle?
Depends on how many brews you've had...   LOL.

Flying Yak,     I'm surprised to see this thread come alive again.      I use the trolling motor to hold my position when I'm drift fishing.  That is,  if I get a hit and have to re-bait  ( not rebate... LOL )  It allows me to maintain my position over a productive spot.
The set up shown in that photo is one of those really expensive Torqeedo motors .  1800 bucks.   Built in GPS, micro processor.   Total weight 12 lbs including Li Mag, battery.   Foot control steering,  infinite variable speed control...
Typical 5 hour fishing with this battery I still have 50% capacity left.     I usually " moto- paddle" to get that sort of range on the battery.

Notme,      Bow / Stern thrusters are used to control a larger vessel when docking.   Trim thrusters are used on the K-wing assault starfighters... and now the Raptor  :smt044
Sometimes the fish isn't the only prize.

Baitman,
Thanks for the reply and sorry for my delayed reply.  I got busy at work and another summer is gone.  Still going back and forth and the whole trolling motor thingndue to added weight, complexity, registration, etc.  I'm not sure that I want to invest a couple grand in the project, maybe $200 to $300.  Once I have a solid plan I'll get a thread going.
