The Old No. 8lb Challenge










Looking at the last 2 weekends of October to send off the H&L RCG season. 





Update....I'm postponing this till next season around the opener, we didn't give ourselves enough time to plan and I'm not gonna sell this event short.  I'll continue to update this thread as we hammer out more details.

For the record....this event is a collaborative effort between a few different members here, we've each contributed and will work together to get this thing off the the ground....quite possibly turn it into a series of challenging events.  Just wanted to make it clear that its not solely my gig or ideas.


To clarify the terms, it is an "invitational" only in the sense that its not a come one come all event.  Since we have established limiting factors as part of the challenge and will have free range up and down the coast the integrity of the tournament can be easily compromised.  We will be on the honor system, as such, entry is limited to those who have a history established with NCKA and reputation to besmirch should anything fishy go down. That means anyone who posts and participates is automatically invited.  If you are a newer member or have had an account and rarely post you will be subject to the derelict team to have your eligibility determined. 

Also, with the robot talk the rules about line aren't real clear.  All lines are not created equal, we will use 8lb Ande tourney grade line, no others, not joking.  A spool is about $5-7 I think I will be organizing a group buy, more details to come.  You can use up to a 4' leader of whatever you want.

I'd say yes but Mooch is in charge of the smell test.  If you've ever heard him snore or pick up the scent trail of a quesadilla at 100 yards you'll know his nose is capable of some amazing feats. If you try pulling a fast one he'll know.
