Here they are!!!  Congratulations to the winners

A very impressive showing.  I think the best thing about this year's big fish pool was that a different person won each of the categories.  I'm looking forward to the 2006 pool and an even larger number of entrants in each category.

Salmon: Joel with his 27 pound chick magnet

Halibut:  Chef with his 24# 9 oz Butt

Striper:  Sean with his 11 pound Lake Mendocino beauty

Rock Cod: Papa Bill with his 10# Cabezon in full fishsniffer pose.

Lingcod:  Abking with his 24 pounder

Sturgeon:  My 71.75 incher from Shell Bank

JOB WELL DONE!!!!!!!
How do I enter the 2006 pool? I am headed out in the next day or two and I want to be covered for when I hook and land that HOG!!!
Glad I wasn't in the rockfish pool when I landed that 28" cabazon. Didn't want to deny Bill of any college fund money right off the bat. :smt003

Congratulations Guys Great Job :blob1: :blob3: :blob5: :blob6: :blob7: :blob9:
What is interesting to me is that 4 of the 6 winners are Charter Members(Oringators) of this Site and Chef & Abking
came on board shortly after. I guess this shows what I have always believed it really pays off to be persistent and efficient,
and that time in the water is extremely important to fishing success. I see so many people wasting valuable fishing time
playing with their gear, re-rigging, and not paying attention it drives me crazy. You can tell just by reading these guys posts
that they know what they are doing are prepared and they don't waste any time when they are on the water.

I don't normally smack talk but one my New Years Resolution's is to spend a lot more time Kayak Fishing and to knock one of these guys off.
Sort of a Win-Win, I know I will have a great time and if I get lucky enough to knock off one of these guys it will be that much Sweeter.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

Congratulations to all the winners.  In all seriousness, you guys have my respect.  I have fished with most of the winners and enjoyed and appreciated the experience.

It's also nice that you shared your successes with the rest of us.........so that we can knock you off the winner's boards next year............ :smt006

Happy New Year.

Yes nice work everyone!!!! All the winners did a great job!

Next years pool will kick off in a next few weeks. I need to take a few weeks to get everything sorted out.

To the winners: I hope to have a little get together to pass out the prize money but if you want it sooner just let me know.

Wow is this the first year you guy's have had this pool? This is pretty cool there will be a track record of who caught what which year. I would like to get in on this years pool myself.  :smt001  I'm marred and have a little one so that gives you single guys an edge :smt002

I guess this Dino hunt coming up will just have to be a practice run?    :smt009

:smt001  I'm marred and have a little one so that gives you single guys an edge :smt002

I'm hoping that was a typo, because referring to marraige as being "marred" is a bit severe.  :smt005  As a married man myself, I know that the wife and fishing often don't mix.  Sometimes typos are too funny to ignore.

Anyway, here's what webster's dictionary has for a definition of marred (well actually the verb mar)

Etymology: Middle English marren, from Old English mierran to obstruct, waste; akin to Old High German merren to obstruct
1 : to detract from the perfection or wholeness of : SPOIL
2 archaic a : to inflict serious bodily harm on b : DESTROY

I suppose that sometimes it seems that when it comes to fishing being married is like being "detracted from the perfection or wholeness" of fishing.

Oh yeah, congrats to all the pool winners.

I can't wait for the 2006 pool, I had fun last year just having my name scroll across the screen for a few months.

I can't believe my11#er survived since May!  I saw several fish that would have beat it but weren't in the pool, so if ya wanna win you have to play.  Look forward to the awards get together.  Special thanks to ChuckE for make all of the winners sweat several times throughout the season.
