Kayaks Stolen in Broad Daylight
« on: July 28, 2010, 08:41:23 pm »
Hey guys, just thought I'd send out this notice. My two Kayaks were stolen from my driveway yesterday at 3:45 in the afternoon. Five minutes after I left for a movie. The whole thing was caught on video and we are currently trying to enhance it to id a license plate.
The kayaks were two Hobie Quests. One red and one yellow. I'm going to try to post a photo that I have of the crime in progress but if anyone comes across these kayaks, I would appreciate a heads up phone call or email. My cell phone # is 818-481-4195 and my email address is CV315@aol.com.
Thanks for any help.

I'll keep an eye out for your kayaks.  Do you have the serial numbers for these yaks?

Man, I trust nobody and this just reconfirms my lack of faith in humanity - present company (NCKA) excluded of course!

Best of luck and like Porky said, be sure to check Craigslist.

That kid in the white shirt and shorts look suspicious.  He might be one of the robbers.  Hope you get them.

That sucks!
Your yaks were unlocked in your carport?

I yam diz-gusted.
So sorry you got burgled. I agree with the earlier post, how far could they drive with the yaks hanging out of the car like that?
I'll bet the yaks turn up somewhere.

Those bastards!!  I scratched my CA Drivers Lic. on 2 different spots to protect myself.  One inside and one outside. I read a report in CL when a spearfisherman based in Marin tracked his stolen kayak in the Sacramento area. He called the cops, despite showing pictures of his yak it was not proof enough for the police and had to pay $300.  He suggested showing proof of  your registered serial number or scratching your CA Drivers Lic.

I'd recommend you tell us the make, etc. So many of us cruise CL. Early this year we (well, Amphibian) was able to get one back!

Is that a newer model explorer?  How bold is that?!  There's gotta be an eyewitness to that.  You don't just drive around with two yaks hanging out the back w/o someone noticing.  Life imprisonment no parole, all the way - hope those f'ers rot in hell.
Searching for fish I am.
Eat them I will.
