Fished Del Valle again yesterday, 17 Jul 10.  Moved around a bit.  Fished the spot across from the launch, the Narrows, and and Swallow Bay, same setup as last week.   Ended up back at the same spot (across from the launch).  Fished from 0630 to 1300 without a bite.  Things picked up after lunch and I ended up getting three cats by 1530, all on chicken livers.  They were 5#, 3# and 2-1/2#.  This week, I tied by rods onto tree roots, a good thing too, as the fish hit like freight trains.  The rods went vertical off the leashes when the fish hit.   I also upgraded my setups to 14 lb test line.

Looks like a late bite, probably something to do if you want to sleep in and still get some fishing done.

Met some guys at the launch who got three stripers at the dam.  They were fly-lining anchovies.  I plan to give that a go next time.
