Took my new Kayak out and hit Lake Chabot unfortunately got skunked. I paddled over to bass cove and there were some big trout jumping around, but all I had was bass tackle should have brought the fly rod. Was on the water for 4 or so hrs, few nibbles but no real solid bites. I was throwing swim baits, lizards, worms, and lures. From what I could tell the people in boats weren't having any luck either. Still a fun day, but overall lifetime I'm 0-5 at lake chabot for bass I need to find away to get on the board.

Yea, In fact I was there a couple weeks ago. (non yak) Now that I have a Yak I'm going to have to make a trip out there. I've seen the stripers on the forums that people have pulled out of Del Valle wouldn't mind one of those as my first fish on yak.

WTTMadness! We've all been in that same position(butDONTputONthePOWERBAITjustYET) Keep on the huntdowns.
Chabot is a tough lake to fish in the summer= i know that smelly animal all too well.
No Bass in BassCove either! :smt013  Winter&Spring is the only time to fish it. (says my record books)
