I am not a Hobie rep, just an owner. I would like to share this to all who's thinking of getting a  Hobie Kayak.

I had my 2007 Adventure as a demo from California Canoe and Kayak in Oakland. Last May8, went to FisHunters' Paradise hookup. When I got back to the ramp I noticed that the kayak was heavier than usual. When I opened the hatch I was surprised with the amount of water in the hull. Thought it was just from the rudder control line but when I got home cleaning up the boat I found a crack on one of the drivewell towers.

I immediately called up ChuckE, who is a Hobie rep. He then contacted Keith from California Canoe and Kayak (CCK). As expected, it was covered by Hobie warranty. But the best thing was Hobie's and CCK's quick response to the claim. Hard to find great customer service nowadays.

Kudos to ChuckE, Keith of CCK, and Hobie. Well worth the praise!

Hey James, did I show the spool to you when you won the Paradise Butt Derby? Anyway, the yoyo should work. Dude, it's way different excitement. Can't wait to try it on rockfish or stripers or dino. I plan to practice with batrays and sharks at the bay. You can tag along if you like.

Good idea. I will try it myself before I make a sabiki rod.

I ordered the small one...I've tried the home made sabiki rod :smt012 Eventually got the Ahi rod. Which is great but less is more on the yak. I think I will dedicate the rod for the PB

You gave up on your homemade sabiki rod??? :smt009 Why so??

Love the idea of hand-line sabiki!!!  Compact, easy to deploy, dont need a rod or reel... hummm...  That sounds really cool!

yeah..it was pretty heavy. I have the Ahi one and its great but unless you plan on making a ton of bait its a bit much on the yak. I will keep it for the PB. I should have mine in a few days. I like the idea of tossing it in the tackle bag on the yak.
