:smt011   "Arm thyself"  :smt045....that's my opinion at least.

There's too many gun crazies out there already...might as well be prepared to deal with 'em...rather then rely on law enforcement that could be days away from your location.

Those four could have been dumping a body and did not want witness's.

I bet they were just drunken idiots playing "Hey, watch this".

Come on, 100 shots and not a single hole in the kayaks, that were like sitting ducks, (except bigger, and in all likelyhood, brighter)?  If they were shooting to kill, you'd be reading about two dead kayakers.

I don't see how being armed would have helped in that situation.

It seems that the some of the youth today have such disregard for life and whats morally right that its downright scary. This kind of behavior is cropping up everywhere. Very sad and very dangerous. It has happened here in Petaluma down by the river at night Random gangs beating the shit out of innocent people and stabbings also. I am just getting too old for this shit, or is it getting worse. Thanks Allen for letting us know not to let our guard down, EVER.

They were probably just scaring the crap out of those guys; sucessfully.
How can you miss a kayak with that many shots?
Nevertheless, the game warder should have used his night vision for a couple of head shots. We need to start culling a certain gene pool.

A pistol against a rifle, (or possibly two)?

Don't get me wrong, I like guns, but i'm a realist.

Looks like some loonies having their fun by being dbags. .. having a gun in that case probably would have just made things worse..

Yeah I would get some night vision scopes and have Rock Hopper as my wing man if I fished down there. I guess that "Deliverance" movie wasn't too far off.  :smt005

if someone shoots towards your direction and you shoot back....the shooters would mostly think twice about picking a fight (IMO at least). The point is not looking like a victim and waiting for help is not always the "safest" thing to do. Especially out in the wilderness. Culprits usually prey on the helpless and in this situation, anyone without the means of fighting back is shit out of luck.

...just my 2 cents
